The LadiesWhoLunchInSurrey donned their high heels for a very special invite to the Champagne launch event for the 2014 Surrey Classic Bike Ride.
Taking place on the hottest night of the year, this soiree was hosted by the wonderful Jordan Addison at his trendy yet cosy cafe, Giro, in Esher High Street. So warm was the welcome, that we can’t wait to head back there for lunch as soon as possible (Watch This Space).
But even our high heels weren’t enough to match the height of some of the guests – mainly (or should we say manly) rugby players from Esher Rugby Club and even the England squad. Many of them will be taking part or volunteering to help out on the day to raise money for Paul Barker. Paul is an Esher Rugby player who had to have his leg amputated earlier this year.
The Surrey Classic takes place around our stunningly beautiful countryside on Sunday, June 29 – and will offer three routes to accommodate different abilities. The event will start and end at Esher Rugby Club, where there will be an array of activities for all the family throughout the day.
No doubt the LadiesWhoLunchInSurrey will be leaving the lycra and helmets in the garage and taking along a picnic for lunch that day to help support the wonderful cyclists who hope to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
